Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification for DaAnalytics

Pong Office Snowflake Polar Bear and socksSince early 2018 I have developed an interest in Snowflake, the Data Warehouse built for the Cloud. Although I have been working with Oracle for almost the whole of my professional live, it made perfect sense to me to also have a look at Snowflake. Not in the last place because some of the founders came from Oracle. When I started looking at Snowflake, I knew I wanted to get certified too. Last year at the first Snowflake Summit in San Francisco I received the first one; Hands-On Snowflake – Web UI. Now it was time to go for the second one. Last week passed my exams. As from now there is prove of Snowflake knowledge with the Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification for DaAnalytics.

“The SnowPro Core Certification demonstrates an individual’s knowledge to apply specific core expertise implementing and migrating to Snowflake.”

Alone in the Pong office with my Snowflake socks on and the Snowflake Polar Bear in front of me, things could not go wrong. And the didn’t. It wasn’t easy but I passed the exams. On to the next one when it comes available.


The best way to learn stuff is by doing things in real-life. Since we are a Snowflake Partner, we have our own environment at Pong. This is great to try and test things out. I started with a 30-day Trial Account, which you can sign up for on the Snowflake website.

While experimenting, I decided to write about it on this website. Next to that I also stored a few things on GitHub.

I found a link on the web. Jeno Yamma sums up the SnowPro Core Certification preparation steps very well. Combined with doing things yourself, you will have a good preparation to get yourself certified.
