I have been a Snowflake ❄️ Data Superhero since the early days of the program. The Data Superhero program has evolved since then. It’s a community program which comes with more and more benefits. I am not talking about all the swag we receive. I can almost start my own personal Snowstore. The benefits I refer to are mostly based on all the extra, special information we receive from close to the source. We e.g. have regular online meetings with Product Management, about development, roadmap, etc. Product Management also invites us with questionnaires about certain topics. Sometimes we get invited to share our thoughts about specific developments. Next to that we have a dedicated Slack-channel where we can exchange information or our shameless plugs (a blogpost, an article, a book or product / tool developments).
Last week at Snowflake Summit we could experience in real life how you could benefit from being part of the Snowflake Data Superhero (DSH) program.
One fun thing is that multiple DSH’s write books. I received a signed copy of the last one I know of; Serge Gershkovic wrote ‘Data Modeling with Snowflake‘.
On Tuesday we had a ‘private’ chat with Snowflake Product Management; Saras (Kaul) Nowak and Xin Huang . We discussed the Dynamic Tables, currently in Public Preview and Streaming Pipelines. It was great that Saras and Xin were willing to take the time to have a chat with us and for answering all our questions. Doing this in-person gives an extra dimension to being a DSH.
This year at Snowflake’s yearly Summit, the importance of the Snowflake Collaborative Community was highlighted at the Builder Keynote (around 44:30min, available on demand) on Wednesday.
Special thanks to the Data Superheroes whom were provide front row seats. Not only at the Builder Keynote, but we had special seats for all Keynotes.
As ‘always’ (2nd time in a row) we had our yearly Data Superhero Summit Reception in the Alto Bar in Caesars Palace. We had the privilege to be joined by the two of the Snowflake ❄️ founders Benoit Dageville and Thierry Cruanes.
Although they’re busy schedule, they took the time to have a quick chat about how they have come so far with Snowflake and how they are continuing to build on their original vision. It was really nice to feel the passion and the energy of two people who have made their vision come to life in the Data Cloud.

I feel really privileged for being part of this amazing group of people. What have had interesting talks about Snowflake, but there was also room for a small talk, a drink, a bite, a laugh and more. I am glad we are able to spend some time in person. In-person events give a different, special dimension to the community. Online makes the world a lot smaller, but in-person beats it.
